I’m presenting all my yard sale and Craigslist finds from 2016 (thus far) in one post. I am hoping to get some actual video of me exploring yard sales soon and upload to the site. I enjoy just going around and poking through people’s possessions and I think it’ll make for some pretty interesting footage. It may not, but I’m going to put it out there anyways. I’ll also be starting to post product reviews, especially of things that I find at yard sales. All of this will be available on this site and on my Youtube channel Quick and Dirty. My favorite find from 2016 so far are the Winnie the Pooh plate calendar, and I’ll explain why here.
I met a guy named Robert through Craigslist. He was cleaning out his garage and ran across a ton of vintage toys from his childhood. I pulled up to his house and followed him to a detached garage behind his house. As I got closer I could see a lot of toys placed on his garage floor. I ended up buying everything he had.
One of my favorite finds ever, and I am SO INCREDIBLY proud that I bought professional lighting BEFORE I took the pictures of this set. These pictures helped the final selling price by at least +30%. I bought all of these figurines from one guy on Craigslist for $50. FIFTY DOLLARS. He said his daughter and wife hated them so he had to get rid of them. I ended up making more than 10 times my money in profit from this haul. Still to this day one of my favorite finds ever. I still think the Spooky Town haul was my favorite. The lot had Clive Barker’s Tortured Souls, Alice in Wonderland, Where the Wild Things Are, Akira, and Spawn. I also found this sweet Halo Reach elite statue on Craigslist that I nearly doubled my money on.
